Impact of Our Supporters Donations In Rehab
The Care Trust through the generous contributions of our Supporters is honored to support the transformative work of Rehab Group through continuous fundraising efforts to RehabCare and the National Learning Network (NLN). Last year, The Care Trust contributed €756,810 to support Rehab’s vital services, ensuring that they can continue to enhance their offerings and address the evolving needs of their clients.
RehabCare: Empowering Lives
RehabCare provides innovative care tailored to the needs of individuals with disabilities, mental health difficulties, and older people. Recently our funding has supported several impactful projects:
Multipurpose Garden Cabin at Dundalk Supported Accommodation
This versatile space offers residents a place for relaxation and personal activities, promoting inclusivity and well-being.
Millbank Accommodation Renovation
The renovation in Greystones, Co. Wicklow, includes enhanced accessibility features, ensuring residents receive the support they need to lead fulfilling lives.
National Learning Network: Inclusive Education and Training
NLN embodies inclusivity in education and training, providing opportunities for individuals aged 16-66 with disabilities or additional support needs. Key initiatives supported by The Care Trust include:
Access to Technology
Funding facilitated the purchase of computers and ancillary equipment across 33 services nationwide, enhancing everyday lives and educational experiences.
Sensory Hubs Installation
Eight Sensory Hubs, or Cubbies, were installed in seven counties, providing audio-visual relaxation areas that help service users regulate their emotions.
Digital Focus
Over €280,000 was funded for Assistive Technology Kits, Interactive Whiteboards, Dream to Drive Simulators, and Sensory/Stimulation Hubs, ensuring no one is left behind in the digital age.
Facility Improvement Initiatives
Three major capital projects were awarded €250,000 to enhance facilities at NLN Sligo and Knocklofty Rural Resource Centre. These projects include building extensions and the addition of wheelchair-accessible wet rooms, allowing Rehab Group to better meet the current and future needs of service users.
